TRADE AND MARKETING PROMOTION ACT, 1991

PART I

Preliminary and General

Short title, construction and collective citation.

1. —(1) This Act may be cited as the Trade and Marketing Promotion Act, 1991.

(2) This Act and the Export Promotion Acts, 1959 to 1987, shall be construed as one Act.

(3) The Export Promotion Acts, 1959 to 1987, and this Act may be cited together as the Trade and Marketing Promotion Acts, 1959 to 1991.

Commencement.

2. —(1) This Act, with the exception of section 8 , shall come into operation on the first day of September, 1991.

(2) Section 8 of this Act shall come into operation on the passing of this Act.

Interpretation.

3. —In this Act—

the Board” means the body to which the title “An Bord Tráchtála — The Irish Trade Board” is given by section 5 of this Act;

the dissolved body” means the Irish Goods Council dissolved by section 12 of this Act;

functions” includes powers and duties;

the Minister” means the Minister for Industry and Commerce.

Expenses.

4. —The expenses incurred by the Minister in the administration of this Act shall, to such extent as may be sanctioned by the Minister for Finance, be paid out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas.
