FISHERIES (ELECTION OF CONSERVATORS POSTPONEMENT) ACT, 1924.
Postponement of elections of conservators of fisheries.
1.—(1) The Minister for Fisheries, if in his opinion it is necessary or expedient so to do, may by order postpone all or any of the statutory elections of conservators of fisheries which but for this Act would be held in the year 1924 until such date not being later than the 31st day of December, 1925, as the said Minister shall by such order appoint.
(2) Separate orders may be made at different times under this section for the postponement of the statutory elections of different boards of conservators and different dates may be appointed for the holding of such postponed elections, and any election which is postponed by an order under this section may be further postponed by subsequent orders.
Extension of term of office of existing conservators.
2.—Where the election of members of any board of conservators of fisheries is postponed by an order made under this Act, the term of office of all members of such board holding office at the date of such order shall be and is hereby extended to the day after the date to which such election is postponed by that or any subsequent order.
Short title.
3.—This Act may be cited as the Fisheries (Election of Conservators Postponement) Act, 1924.
