Mínithe.

1.—San Acht seo—

ciallaíonn “an Institiúid” an Institiúid Taighde Tionscail agus Caighdeán;

ciallaíonn “an tAire” an tAire Tionscail, Tráchtála agus Fuinnimh.

An Institiúid d'fháil iasachtaí.

2.—(1) Féadfaidh an Institiúid, le toiliú an Aire arna thabhairt le comhthoiliú an Aire Airgeadais agus faoi réir aon choinníollacha a fhorchuirfidh an tAire, cibé suimeanna a theastóidh uaithi chun soláthar do chaiteachas reatha a fháil ar iasacht go sealadach trí chomshocraíocht le baincéirí.

(2) Féadfaidh an Institiúid, le toiliú an Aire arna thabhairt le comhthoiliú an Aire Airgeadais agus faoi réir aon choinníollacha a fhorchuirfidh an tAire, cibé suimeanna a theastóidh uaithi chun trealamh caipitiúil a cheannach a fháil ar iasacht ar urrús a cuid talún agus áitreabh féin agus gan aon ráthaíocht ón Aire go n-aisíocfar go cuí aon iasachtaí a fuarthas amhlaidh.

3.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht Taighde Tionscail agus Caighdeán (Leasú), 1979, a ghairm den Acht seo.

(2) Féadfar na hAchtanna Taighde Tionscail agus Caighdeán, 1961 agus 1979, a ghairm den Acht Taighde Tionscail agus Caighdeán, 1961, agus den Acht seo le chéile agus forléireofar le chéile iad mar aon Acht amháin.

INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH AND STANDARDS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1979

Definitions.

1.—In this Act—

“the Institute” means the Institute for Industrial Research and Standards;

“the Minister” means the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy.

Borrowing by Institute.

2.—(1) The Institute may, with the consent of the Minister given with the concurrence of the Minister for Finance and subject to any conditions imposed by the Minister, borrow temporarily by arrangement with bankers such sums as it may require for the purpose of providing for current expenditure.

(2) The Institute may, with the consent of the Minister given with the concurrence of the Minister for Finance and subject to any conditions imposed by the Minister, borrow, on the security of its own land and premises and without any guarantee by the Minister for the due repayment of any such borrowings, such sums as it may require for the purpose of purchasing capital equipment.

Short title, collective citation and construction.

3.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Industrial Research and Standards (Amendment) Act, 1979.

(2) The Industrial Research and Standards Act, 1961, and this Act may be cited together as the Industrial Research and Standards Acts, 1961 and 1979, and shall be construed together as one Act.
