Údarás áitiúil.
1.—San Acht so cialluíonn an abairt “údarás áitiúil” cólucht ina bhfuil riaradh fóirithin na mbocht dílsithe agus, nuair a húsaidtear í maidir le ceann-chlárathóir, ceann-chlárathóir conganta, clárathóir no clárathóir conganta, cialluíonn sí an cólucht ina bhfuil an riaradh san i gceanntar an cheann-chlárathóra, an cheann-chlárathóra chonganta, an chlárathóra no an chlárathóra chonganta san, do réir mar bheidh, dílsithe.

2.—(1) Gach ceann-chlárathóir, ceann-chlárathoir conganta, clárathóir agus clárathóir conganta ar a gceangailtear le halt 28 den Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, a chur fé ndeár na nithe luaidhtear san alt san do chur in áit éigin feiceálach ar dhoras béil no in aice dorais bhéil a áite comhnaithe no a áite gnótha aithnidiúla cólíonfaid an fhoráil sin den alt san—
(a) tré chlár de mhéid oiriúnach agus na nithe sin péinteálta air d'fháil agus do choinneáil i dtreo, agus
(b) tré n-a chur fé ndeár an bord san agus é peinteálta amhlaidh mar adubhradh do chur agus do choimeád in áit éigin feiceálach den tsórt a luaidhtear san alt san.

3.—(1) Ar dháta an Achta so do rith agus as san amach íocfaidh gach údarás áitiúil le gach duine is clárathóir chun crícheanna na Births and Deaths Registration Acts (Ireland), 1863 to 1880, agus 'na bhfuil a cheanntar i líomatáiste feidhmiúcháin an údaráis áitiúla san no gurb ionann a cheanntar agus an líomatáiste sin, liúntas (i dteanta aon luach saothair is iníochta leis an gclárathóir sin fé aon Acht eile) in aghaidh gach bliana no coda de bhliain do bhí an clárathóir sin i seilbh oifige, liúntas de pé méid acu so leanas a bhaineann leis an gcás, sé sin le rá:—
(a) má bhí an clárathóir sin i seilbh oifige ar feadh iomlán na bliana san—ocht bpúint, no
(b) mara raibh an clárathóir sin i seilbh oifige ach ar feadh coda den bhliain sin—méid go mbeidh idir é agus ocht bpúint an cothrom céanna bheidh idir an chuid sin den bhliain sin agus bliain.
(2) An liúntas is iníoctha fén alt so le clárathóir atá i seilbh oifige le linn an Achta so do rith tosnóidh sé ar dháta an rithte sin agus, chun an méid is iníoctha leis alos an liúntais sin d'áireamh, tuigfear gach clárathóir den tsórt san do thosnú ar bheith i seilbh oifige ar an dáta san.

4.—Na costaisí uile fé n-a raghaidh údarás áitiúil fén Acht so cruinneofar agus íocfar iad fé mar a cruinnítear agus a híoctar costaisí fé n-a dtéigheann an t-údarás áitiúil sin chun fóirithin na mbocht do riaradh.

5.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht um Chlárú Beireataisí agus Básanna, 1936, do ghairm den Acht so.

REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS ACT, 1936.
Local authority.
1.—In this Act the expression “local authority” means a body in whom is vested the administration of the relief of the poor and, when used in relation to a superintendent registrar, assistant superintendent registrar, registrar, or assistant registrar, means the body in whom is vested the said administration in the district of such superintendent registrar, assistant superintendent registrar, registrar or assistant registrar, as the case may be.
Liability of local authorities for certain expenses.
2.—(1) Every superintendent registrar, assistant superintendent registrar, registrar, and assistant registrar who is required by section 28 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, to cause the matters mentioned in that section to be placed on some conspicuous place on or near the outer door of his dwelling-house or known place of business shall comply with that provision of the said section by—
(a) procuring and maintaining a board of suitable size and having the said matters painted thereon, and
(b) causing such board so painted as aforesaid to be placed and kept in some such conspicuous place as is mentioned in the said section.
(2) All expenses necessarily and properly incurred after the passing of this Act by a superintendent registrar, assistant superintendent registrar, registrar, or assistant registrar in complying in the manner appointed by this section with the relevant provision of section 28 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, shall be repaid on demand to such superintendent registrar, assistant superintendent registrar, registrar or assistant registrar (as the case may be) by the local authority.
Remuneration of registrars by local authorities.
3.—(1) As on and from the date of the passing of this Act, every local authority shall pay to every registrar for the purposes of the Births and Deaths Registration Acts (Ireland), 1863 to 1880, whose district is situate in or is co-terminous with the functional area of such local authority an allowance (in addition to any remuneration payable to such registrar under any other Act), in respect of every year during which or any part of which such registrar has held office, of whichever of the following amounts is applicable, that is to say:—
(a) if such registrar has held office during the whole of such year—eight pounds, or
(b) if such registrar has held office during part only of such year—an amount bearing to eight pounds the same proportion as the said part of such year bears to one year.
(2) The allowance payable under this section to a registrar who holds office at the passing of this Act shall commence on the date of such passing, and every such registrar shall, for the purpose of calculating the amount payable to him in respect of such allowance, be deemed to have begun to hold office on the said date.
Expenses of local authorities.
4.—All expenses incurred by a local authority under this Act shall be raised and defrayed in the manner in which expenses incurred by such local authority in the administration of the relief of the poor are raised and defrayed.
Short title and collective citation.
5.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1936.
(2) The Births and Deaths Registration Acts (Ireland), 1863 to 1880, and this Act may be cited together as the Births and Deaths Registration Acts, 1863 to 1936.
