1.—San Acht seo—
ciallaíonn an abairt “Acht 1941” an tAcht Ceardchumann, 1941 (Uimh. 22 de 1941);
ciallaíonn an abairt “an tAire” an tAire Tionscail agus Tráchtála.

2.—(1) Más rud é, i rith na tréimhse de dhá mhí dhéag dar tosach dáta an Achta seo a rith, gur deimhin leis an Aire, maidir le haon cheardchumann áirithe a bheas cláraithe faoi na hAchta Ceardchumann, 1871 go 1942, go mba chruatan míchuí é ar an gceardchumann sin é a bheith d'fhiachaibh air an éarlais iomlán a sonraítear le halt 7 d'Acht 1941 a lóisteáil agus a choimeád ar lóisteáil san Ard-Chúirt, féadfaidh an tAire a dhearbhú le hordú, gur tuigthe, maidir leis an gceardchumann sin, gach suim airgid a luaitear sa Sceideal a ghabhas le hAcht 1941 a bheith arna laghdú an méid sin, nach mó ná cúig seachtód faoin gcéad, is cuí leis an Aire.
(2) Aon ordú a déanfar faoi fho-alt (1) den alt seo, beidh éifeacht aige do réir a théarmaí ar feadh na tréimhse a sonrófar ann chuige sin, ach ní bheidh éifeacht ag aon ordú den tsórt sin tar éis deireadh a theacht leis an tréimhse de dhá mhí dhéag dar tús dáta thosach feidhme an Achta seo.
(3) Féadfaidh an tAire, le hordú arna dhéanamh tar éis fógra sé mhí a thabhairt don cheardchumann iomchuí, aon ordú a chúlghairm a rinne sé roimhe sin faoi fho-alt (1) den alt seo.

3.—(1) Athghairmtear leis seo alt 8 d'Acht 1941.
(2) I gcás ina raibh ordú faoi fho-alt (1) d'alt 8 d'Acht 1941 i bhfeidhm díreach roimh an Acht seo a rith—
(a) leanfaidh an t-ordú de bheith i bhfeidhm, agus
(b) bainfidh forála ailt 2 den Acht seo leis an ordú amhail is dá mba ordú faoi fho-alt (1) den alt sin é.
Gearrtheideal.
4.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht Ceardchumann, 1947, a ghairm den Acht seo.
(2) Féadfar na hAchta Ceardchumann, 1871 go 1947, a ghairm den Acht seo agus de na hAchta Ceardchumann, 1871 go 1942, le chéile.

TRADE UNION ACT, 1947.
Definitions.
1.—In this Act—
the expression “the Act of 1941” means the Trade Union Act, 1941 (No. 22 of 1941);
the expression “the Minister” means the Minister for Industry and Commerce.
Variation of Schedule to Act of 1941.
2.—(1) Where, during the period of twelve months commencing on the passing of this Act, the Minister is satisfied that, as regards any particular trade union registered under the Trade Union Acts, 1871 to 1942, it would cause undue hardship if such trade union were compelled to make and keep with the High Court the full deposit specified by section 7 of the Act of 1941, the Minister may by order declare that every sum of money mentioned in the Schedule to the Act of 1941 shall, as regards such trade union, be deemed to be reduced to such extent not exceeding seventy-five per cent, as the Minister thinks proper.
(2) An order under subsection (1) of this section shall have effect in accordance with its terms for the period specified in that behalf therein, save that no such order shall have effect after the expiration of the period of twelve months commencing on the passing of this Act.
(3) The Minister may by order, made after six months' notice of the making thereof has been given to the trade union concerned, revoke any order previously made by him under subsection (1) of this section.
Repeal of section 8 of Act of 1941 and continuance of orders.
3.—(1) Section 8 of the Act of 1941 is hereby repealed.
(2) Where an order under subsection (1) of section 8 of the Act of 1941 was in force immediately before the passing of this Act—
(a) the order shall continue to be in force, and
(b) the provisions of section 2 of this Act shall apply to the order as if it were an order under subsection (1) of that section.
Short title, and collective citation.
4.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Trade Union Act, 1947.
(2) This Act and the Trade Union Acts, 1871 to 1942, may be cited together as the Trade Union Acts, 1871 to 1947.
