1.—(1) Déantar leis seo alt 2 den Acht Talmhaíochta (Leasú), 1958, a leasú tríd an bhfo-alt seo a leanas a chur i ionad fho-alt (1) (a cuireadh isteach leis an Acht Talmhaíochta (Leasú), 1971):

“(1) Déanfaidh comhairle contae, an bhliain airgeadais áitiúil dar tosach an lú lá d'Eanáir, 1975, agus gach bliain airgeadais áitiúil ina dhiaidh sin, ranníoc faoin bhfo-alt seo le coiste talmhaíochta an chontae nach lú ná an fáltas ó ráta pingin nua sa phunt an bhliain airgeadais áitiúil roimhe sin sa limistéar arb é an contae é gan aon cheantar uirbeach ann (más ann) a áireamh agus nach mó ná daichead oiread an fháltais sin.”.

(2) Na gníomhartha agus na nithe go léir a rinne comhairle contae roimh an lú lá d'Eanáir, 1975, maidir le haon ráta a ghearradh don bhliain airgeadais áitiúil dar tosach an lá sin beidh siad chomh bailí éifeachtach agus dá mbeadh an tAcht seo i bhfeidhm an tráth a rinneadh na gníomhartha nó na nithe sin.

Gearrtheideal, comhlua agus tosach feidhme.

2.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht Talmhaíochta (Leasú), 1974, a ghairm den Acht seo.

(2) Féadfar na hAchtanna Talmhaíochta, 1931 go 1974, a ghairm de na hAchtanna Talmhaíochta, 1931 go 1971, agus den Acht seo le chéile.

(3) Tiocfaidh an tAcht seo i ngníomh an lú lá d'Eanáir, 1975

AGRICULTURE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1974

Amendment of section 2 of the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1958.

1.—(1) Section 2 of the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1958, is hereby amended by the substitution for subsection (1) (inserted by the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1971) of the following subsection:

“(1) The council of a county shall, in the local financial year beginning on the 1st day of January, 1975, and every subsequent local financial year, make to the committee of agriculture for the county a contribution under this subsection of not less than the produce of a rate in the preceding local financial year of one new penny in the pound in the area consisting of the county exclusive of every (if any) urban district therein and not more than forty times such produce.”.

(2) All acts and things done before the 1st day of January, 1975, by the council of a county in relation to the making of any rate for the local financial year beginning on that day shall be as valid and effectual as if this Act had been in force at the time those acts or things were done.

Short title, collective citation and commencement.

2.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1974.

(2) The Agriculture Acts, 1931 to 1971, and this Act may be cited together as the Agriculture Acts, 1931 to 1974.

(3) This Act shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1975.
