LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1959.
Repeal in part of subsection (4) of section 52 of Local Government Act, 1946.
1.—The words “Except where the bridge order relates to the River Shannon” contained in subsection (4) of section 52 of the Local Government Act, 1946 (which subsection was inserted in that section by subsection (1) of section 40 of the Local Government Act, 1955) are hereby repealed.
Amendment of Athlone Bridge Order, 1956.
2.—The Athlone Bridge Order, 1956, shall have effect as if Articles 2 and 3 thereof were deleted and the following Article were substituted for Article 2:
“2. The bridge shall be reconstructed by the provision of a new fixed span in place of the existing swivel span.”
Short title and collective citation.
3.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Local Government Act, 1959.
(2) The Local Government Acts, 1925 to 1958, and this Act may be cited together as the Local Government Acts, 1925 to 1959.

Athghairm pháirteach ar fho-alt (4) d'alt 52 den Acht Rialtais Áitiúil, 1946.
1.—Athghairtear leis seo na focail “Ach amháin sa chás ina mbaineann an t-ordú droichid le hAbha na Sionainne” atá i bhfo-alt (4) d'alt 52 den Acht Rialtais Áitiúil, 1946 (fo-alt a cuireadh isteach san alt sin le fo-alt (1) d'alt 40 den Acht Rialtais Áitiúil, 1955).
An tOrdú um Dhroichead Atha Luain, 1956, a leasú.
2.—Beidh éifeacht ag an Ordú um Dhroichead Atha Luain, 1956, amhail agus dá scriosfaí Airteagail 2 agus 3 den Ordú sin agus go gcuirfí an tAirteagal seo a leanas in ionad Airteagail 2 :
“2. Déanfar athfhoirgniú ar an droichead trí réise chobhsaidh nua a chur in ionad na réise sclóna atá ann.”

3.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht Rialtais Áitiúil, 1959, a ghairm den Acht seo.
(2) Féadfar na hAchtanna Rialtais Áitiúil, 1925 go 1959, a ghairm de na hAchtanna Rialtais Áitiúil, 1925 go 1958, agus den Acht seo le chéile.
