An ráta talmhaíochta.
1.—(1) An tsuim bhreise a fhéadfas comhairle chontae a chruinniú faoi fho-alt (1) d'alt 36 den Acht Talmhaíochta, 1931 (Uimh. 8 de 1931), sa bhliain airgeadais áitiúil dar tosach an 1ú lá d'Aibreán, 1955, nó in aon bhliain airgeadais áitiúil ina dhiaidh sin, is suim í a bheas comhionann le hocht bpingne sa phunt, ar a mhéid, ar luach inrátuithe na contae i dtosach na bliana sin.
(2) Athghairmtear dá réir sin alt 2 den Acht Talmhaíochta (Leasú), 1948 (Uimh. 24 de 1948), a rinne foráil le haghaidh ráta bhreise nár mhó ná cúig pingne sa phunt.
(3) Gach gníomh agus gach ní a rinne comhairle chontae roimh an Acht seo a rith maidir le gearradh aon ráta don bhliain airgeadais áitiúil dar tosach an 1ú lá d'Aibreán, 1955, beidh sé (má bhíonn méid an ráta thalmhaíochta ar áireamh sa mhéid a bheas le cruinniú tríd an ráta sin) chomh bailí éifeachtach agus dá mbeadh fo-alt (1) den alt seo i bhfeidhm an tráth a rinneadh an gníomh nó an ní sin.
Gearrtheideal agus comhlua.
2.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht Talmhaíochta (Leasú), 1955, a ghairm den Acht seo.
(2) Féadfar na hAchta Talmhaíochta, 1931 go 1955, a ghairm de na hAchta Talmhaíochta, 1931 go 1948, agus den Acht seo le chéile.

AGRICULTURE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1955.
Agricultural rate.
1.—(1) The additional sum which may be raised by the council of a county under subsection (1) of section 36 of the Agriculture Act, 1931 (No. 8 of 1931), in the local financial year beginning on the 1st day of April, 1955, or any subsequent local financial year, shall be a sum equal to not more than eight pence in the pound on the rateable value of the county at the beginning of that year.
(2) Section 2 of the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1948 (No. 24 of 1948), which provided for an additional rate of not more than five pence in the pound, is accordingly repealed.
(3) All acts and things done before the passing of this Act by the council of a county in relation to the making of any rate for the local financial year commencing on the 1st day of April, 1955, shall (where the amount to be raised by means of such rate includes the amount of the agricultural rate) be as valid and effectual as if subsection (1) of this section were in force at the time such acts or things were done.
Short title and collective citation.
2.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1955.
(2) The Agriculture Acts, 1931 to 1948, and this Act may be cited together as the Agriculture Acts, 1931 to 1955.
