An Príomh-Acht.

1.—San Acht so cialluíonn an abairt “an Príomh-Acht”an Unemployment Insurance Act, 1920.

Rátaí síntiuis.

2.—(1) Na síntiuisí is iníoctha fé sna hAchtanna um Arachas Díomhaointis, 1920 go 1926, i dtaobh daoine fostuithe ag na daoine sin agus ag á bhfostóirí beid do réir na rátaí atá leagtha amach sa Chéad Sceideal a ghabhann leis an Acht so agus an síntiús do bhéarfar, chun crícheanna ailt 5 den Phríomh-Acht, as airgead a sholáthróidh an tOireachtas beidh sé do réir ráta is ionann agus trí sheachtú de mhéid iomlán na síntiús do híocadh, i dtaobh an duine fhostuithe, ag an duine sin féin agus ag á fhostóir no do híocadh, i gcás duine saor o íoc, ag fostóir an duine sin, agus beidh éifeacht ag fo-ailt (3) agus (7) den alt san 5 dá réir sin.

3.—Athghairmtear leis seo alt 8 den Unemployment Insurance Act, 1922, agus ina ionad san achtuítear leis seo go ndéanfar an provísó ghabhann le fo-alt (3) d'alt 12 den Phríomh-Acht do léiriú agus go mbeidh éifeacht aige fé is dá gcuirtí isteach ann an focal “one-fifth” in ionad an fhocail “one-tenth” atá ann anois.

5.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht um Arachas Díomhaointis, 1930, do ghairm den Acht so, agus léireofar é mar éinní amháin leis na hAchtanna um Arachas Díomhaointis, 1920 go 1926, agus féadfar na hAchtanna um Arachas Díomhaointis, 1920 go 1930, do ghairm de sna hAchtanna san agus den Acht so le chéile.

UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE ACT, 1930.

AN ACT TO AMEND THE UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE ACTS, 1920 TO 1926, WITH RESPECT TO THE AMOUNT OF THE CONTRIBUTIONS PAYABLE UNDER THE SAID ACTS AND TO AMEND SECTION 12 OF THE UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE ACT, 1920, WITH RESPECT TO THE APPROPRIATION-IN-AID MENTIONED IN THE SAID SECTION 12. [23rd December, 1930.] BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS OF SAORSTÁT EIREANN AS FOLLOWS:— [GA]

The Principal Act.

1.—In this Act the expression “the Principal Act” means the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1920.

Rates of contribution.

2.—(1) The contributions payable under the Unemployment Insurance Acts, 1920 to 1926, in respect of employed persons by those persons and their employers shall be at the rates set out in the First Schedule to this Act and the contribution to be made for the purposes of section 5 of the Principal Act out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas shall be at a rate equal to three-sevenths of the aggregate amount of the contributions paid in respect of the employed person by himself and his employer or, in the case of an exempt person, paid by his employer, and sub-sections (3) and (7) of the said section 5 shall have effect accordingly.

(2) Nothing in this section shall affect the provisions of sections 15 and 16 of the Principal Act.

Amendment of section 12 of the Principal Act.

3.—Section 8 of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1922, is hereby repealed and in lieu thereof it is hereby enacted that the proviso to sub-section (3) of section 12 of the Principal Act shall be construed and have effect as if for the word “one-tenth” now contained therein there were inserted the word “one-fifth.”

Repeals.

4.—The enactments specified in the Second Schedule to this Act are hereby repealed to the extent mentioned in the third column of the said Schedule.

Short title, construction, citation and commencement.

5.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1930, and shall be construed as one with the Unemployment Insurance Acts, 1920 to 1926, and those Acts and this Act may be cited together as the Unemployment Insurance Acts, 1920 to 1930.

(2) This Act shall come into operation on such day as shall be fixed for that purpose by an order of the Minister for Industry and Commerce.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

Rates Of Contribution By Employed Persons And Employers.

Ordinary Rates.

From the employed person for each week:—
In the case of men	6d.
In the case of women	5d.
From the employer for each week:—
In the case of an employed person being a man	7d.
In the case of an employed person being a woman	6d.
Rates in the Case of Persons under Eighteen:—
From the employed person for each week:—
In the case of boys	3d.
In the case of girls	2 ½d.
From the employer for each week:—
In the case of an employed person being a boy	3 ½d.
