ELECTORAL (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1989

“Act of 1963”.

1.—In this Act “the Act of 1963” means the Electoral Act, 1963.

Amendment of section 91 of Act of 1963.

2.—Section 91 of the Act of 1963 is hereby amended—

(a) in subsection (1), by the insertion of the following paragraph after paragraph (c):

“(cc) the poll at an election of members of Údarás na Gaeltachta under the Údarás na Gaeltachta Act, 1979;”, and

(b) in subsection (5), by the substitution for paragraph (c) of the following paragraph:

“(c) the manner in which the expenses of taking the polls concerned shall be apportioned between whichever of the following would, but for this provision, meet the costs of the polls concerned, that is to say, the Central Fund, the local authority or local authorities (within the meaning of Part VI of this Act) concerned and the Minister for the Gaeltacht.”.

Short title, construction and collective citation.

3.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1989, and shall be construed together as one with the Electoral Acts, 1923 to 1986.

(2) This Act and the Electoral Acts, 1923 to 1986, may be cited together as the Electoral Acts, 1923 to 1989.

2.—Leasaítear leis seo alt 91 d'Acht 1963—

(a) i bhfo-alt (1), tríd an mír seo a leanas a chur isteach i ndiaidh mhír (c):

“(cc) an vótaíocht i dtoghchán chun comhaltaí a thoghadh d'Údarás na Gaeltachta faoin Acht um Údarás na Gaeltachta, 1979;”, agus

(b) i bhfo-alt (5), tríd an mír seo a leanas a chur in ionad mhír (c):

“(c) an tslí ina ndéanfar costais tógála na vótaíochtaí lena mbaineann a chionroinnt idir cibé ceann díobh seo a leanas a d'íocfadh, murach an fhoráil seo, costais na vótaíochtaí lena mbaineann, is é sin le rá, an Príomh-Chiste, an t-údarás áitiúil nó na húdaráis áitiúla (de réir bhrí Chuid VI den Acht seo) lena mbaineann agus Aire na Gaeltachta.”.

3.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht Toghcháin (Leasú), 1989, a ghairm den Acht seo agus forléireofar é le chéile leis na hAchtanna Toghcháin, 1923 go 1986, mar aon Acht amháin.

(2) Féadfar na hAchtanna Toghcháin, 1923 go 1989, a ghairm den Acht seo agus de na hAchtanna Toghcháin, 1923 go 1986, le chéile.
