An Príomh-Acht agus an tAcht Leasúcháin.
1.—San Acht so—
cialluíonn an abairt “an Príomh-Acht” an tAcht um Scrúdóireacht Scannán, 1923 (Uimh. 23 de 1923); agus
cialluíonn an abairt “an tAcht Leasúcháin” an tAcht um Scrúdóireacht Scannán (Leasú), 1925 (Uimh. 21 de 1925).
Reachtúchán atá ann cheana do leathnú i dtreo go mbainfe sé le fuaimeanna i dtaca le pictiúirí.
2.—(1) Má bhíonn i dtaca le ní is pictiuir do réir bhrí an Phríomh-Achta fuaimeanna gutha no eile tugtar amach le meain mheceaniciúla i gcó-aimsir leis an éifeacht radhairc gurb í an pictiuir sin í, ansan, chun an Príomh-Acht agus an tAcht Leasúcháin fé seach do chur i mbaint leis an bpictiuir sin agus do léiriú maidir leis an bpictiuir sin, beidh éifeacht ag na forálacha so leanas, sé sin le rá:—
(a) tuigfear na fuaimeanna gutha no eile sin do bheith sa phictiuir sin agus do bheith ina gcuid den phictiuir sin;
(b) tuigfear na meain mheceaniciúla le n-a dtugtar amach na fuaimeanna san do bheith in a gcuid den chinematograf no den fhearas den tsórt san le n-a dtaisbeántar an pictiuir sin;
(c) folóidh an pictiuir sin do thaisbeáint na fuaimeanna san do thabhairt amach; agus
(d) léireofar tagairtí do scannán agus do chlaonchló mar nithe fholuíonn fé seach tagairtí do recórd a bheireann amach na fuaimeanna san agus tagairtí do mhatrix o n-a ndearnadh an recórd san.
Cuid de phictiuir do ghearra amach.
3.—Féadfar le rialacháin a déanfar fé alt 12 den Phríomh-Acht pé socrú is ceart dar leis an Aire Dlí agus Cirt do dhéanamh maidir le coda de phictiuirí, ina mbeidh fuaimeanna a tugtar amach le meain mheceaniciúla, do dheighilt o sna pictiuirí sin, do thabhairt suas agus do choinneail fé mhír (a) d'fho-alt (4) d'alt 7 den Phríomh-Acht agus, in ionad na gcoda san do dheighilt, do thabhairt suas agus do choinneail, féadfar leis na rialacháin sin aon nós-imeachta áirithe d'údarú is dó leis an Aire Dlí agus Cirt do bheith chó maith agus chó héifeachtúil leis na coda san do dheighilt, do thabhairt suas agus do choinneail.
Gearr-theideal, léiriú agus luadh.
4.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht um Scrúdóireacht Scannán (Leasú), 1930, do ghairm den Acht so.
(2) Léireofar an tAcht so mar éinní amháin leis an bPríomh-Acht agus leis an Acht Leasúcháin, agus féadfar na hAchtanna um Scrúdóireacht Scannán, 1923 go 1930, do ghairm de sna hAchtanna san agus den Acht so le chéile.

CENSORSHIP OF FILMS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1930.
The Principal and Amending Acts.
1.—In this Act—
the expression “the Principal Act” means the Censorship of Films Act, 1923 (No. 23 of 1923); and
the expression “the Amending Act” means the Censorship of Films (Amendment) Act, 1925 (No. 21 of 1925).
Extension of existing legislation to sounds accompanying pictures.
2.—(1) Where a picture within the meaning of the Principal Act is accompanied by vocal or other sounds produced by mechanical means in synchronisation with the optical effect constituting such picture, then for the purposes of the application and construction of the Principal Act and the Amending Act respectively to and in relation to such picture the following provisions shall have effect, that is to say:—
(a) the said vocal or other sounds shall be deemed to be included in and to form part of such picture;
(b) the mechanical means by which such sounds are produced shall be deemed to be part of the cinematograph or similar apparatus by means of which such picture is exhibited;
(c) the exhibition of such picture shall include the production of the said sounds; and
(d) references to a film and to a negative shall be construed as including respectively references to a record from which such sounds are produced and to a matrix from which such record is made.
Excision of part of a picture.
3.—Regulations made under section 12 of the Principal Act may make such provision as the Minister for Justice shall think proper in relation to the separation, surrender and retention under paragraph (a) of sub-section (4) of section 7 of the Principal Act of parts of pictures which include sounds produced by mechanical means and may in lieu of such separation, surrender and retention authorise any specified procedure which in the opinion of the Minister for Justice is a satisfactory and efficient substitute for such separation, surrender and retention.
Short title, construction and citation.
4.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Censorship of Films (Amendment) Act, 1930.
(2) This Act shall be construed as one with the Principal Act and the Amending Act, and those Acts and this Act may be cited together as the Censorship of Films Acts, 1923 to 1930.
