ACHT NA MÍNGEACHA MILLTEACHA AGUS NA LOITMHÍOLA, 1954.

“Na hAchta”.
1.—San Acht seo ciallaíonn “na hAchta” Achta na bhFeathaid agus na bPiast Loitbheartacha, 1877 go 1929.
Réim a thabhairt do na hAchta maidir le gníomhairí chun cosc bitheolaíochta a chur le loitmhíola plandaí.
2.—Nuair a húsáidtear sna hAchta “insect” nó “feathaid” (is ionann agus “míng” san Acht seo), ansin, i dteannta na mbríonna a bheirtear dó leis na hAchta, folóidh sé gníomhairí chun cosc bitheolaíochta a chur le loitmhíola plandaí, eadhon, seadáin, orgnóirí agus mion-orgánachtaí, ar gach céim nó staid forbartha, a húsáidtear chun cosc a chur le míngeacha, do réir bhrí na nAcht.

3.—In alt 7 (a bhaineas le costais) d'Acht na bhFeathaid agus na bPiast Loitbheartacha, 1929 (Uimh. 7 de 1929), forléireofar na tagairtí don Acht sin mar thagairtí a fholaíos tagairtí don Acht seo.

4.—Athghairmtear leis seo na hachtacháin atá leagtha amach sa Sceideal a ghabhas leis an Acht seo a mhéid a luaitear i gcolún (3) den Sceideal sin.

5.—(1) Féadfar Acht na Míngeacha Millteacha agus na Loitmhíola, 1954, a ghairm den Acht seo.
(2) Féadfar Achta na Míngeacha Millteacha agus na Loitmhíola, 1877 go 1954, a ghairm de na hAchta agus den Acht seo le chéile.

DESTRUCTIVE INSECTS AND PESTS ACT, 1954.
“The Acts”.
1.—In this Act, “the Acts” means the Destructive Insects and Pests Acts, 1877 to 1929.
Extension of the Acts to agents for the biological control of plant pests.
2.—“Insect” when used in the Acts shall, in addition to the meanings assigned to it by the Acts, include agents for the biological control of plant pests, namely, parasites, predators and micro-organisms in every stage or condition of development which are used for the control of insects, within the meaning of the Acts.
Amendment of section 7 of Destructive Insects and Pests Act, 1929.
3.—In section 7 (which relates to expenses) of the Destructive Insects and Pests Act, 1929 (No. 7 of 1929), the references to that Act shall be construed as including references to this Act.
Repeals.
4.—The enactments set out in the Schedule to this Act are hereby repealed to the extent mentioned in column (3) of that Schedule.
Short title and citation.
5.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Destructive Insects and Pests Act, 1954.
(2) The Acts and this Act may be cited together as the Destructive Insects and Pests Acts, 1877 to 1954.
