AN tACHT SLÁINTE AGUS CÓIREÁLA MEABHAIR-GHALAR (LEASÚ), 1966

Leasú ar alt 15 den Acht Sláinte, 1953.
1.—(1) San alt seo ciallaíonn “an t-alt” alt 15 den Acht Sláinte, 1953, arna leasú.
(2) Déantar leis seo fo-alt (2) den alt a leasú—
(a) trí “míle agus dhá chéad punt” a chur in ionad “ocht gcéad punt” i mír (b), agus
(b) trí “seasca punt” a chur in ionad “caoga punt” i mír (c).
(3) Déantar leis seo an fo-alt seo a leanas a chur in ionad fho-alt (6) den alt:
“(6) I mír (b) agus i mír (c) d'fho-alt (2) den alt seo, folaíonn an tagairt d'acmhainn bhliantúil, i dteannta acmhainn bhliantúil an duine atá i gceist, acmhainn bhliantúil chéile (má tá ann), an duine sin i gcás ina gcónaíonn an céile leis an duine sin.”
(4) Déantar leis seo fo-alt (9) den alt a leasú trí “míle agus dhá chéad punt” a chur in ionad “ocht gcéad punt”.
(5) Déanfar an tagairt don alt in ailt eile den Acht Sláinte, 1953 (lena n-áirítear tagairtí do na leasuithe ar an Acht Cóireála Meabhair-Ghalar, 1945, atá leagtha amach in alt 71 den Acht Sláinte, 1953) a fhorléiriú mar thagairtí don alt arna leasú le haon Acht arna rith tar éis an tAcht sin a rith (lena n-áirítear an tAcht seo).

2.—Déantar leis seo alt 279A den Acht Cóireála Meabhair-Ghalar, 1945 (is é sin, an t-alt a cuireadh isteach san Acht sin le fo-alt (11) d'alt 71 den Acht Sláinte, 1953) a leasú trí “míle agus dhá chéad punt” a chur in ionad “ocht gcéad punt”.
Gearrtheideal, comhlua agus tosach feidhme.
3.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht Sláinte agus Cóireála Meabhair-Ghalar (Leasú), 1966, a ghairm den Acht seo.
(2) Féadfar na hAchtanna Sláinte, 1947 go 1966, a ghairm de na hAchtanna Sláinte, 1947 go 1964, agus d'alt 1 den Acht seo le chéile.
(3) Féadfar na hAchtanna Cóireála Meabhar-Ghalar, 1945 go 1966, a ghairm de na hAchtanna Cóireála Meabhair-Ghalar, 1945 go 1961, agus d'alt 2 den Acht seo le chéile.
(4) Tiocfaidh an tAcht seo i ngníomh cibé lá a cheapfaidh an tAire Sláinte le hordú.

HEALTH AND MENTAL TREATMENT (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1966
Amendment of section 15 of Health Act, 1953.
1.—(1) In this section “the section” means section 15 of the Health Act, 1953, as amended.
(2) Subsection (2) of the section is hereby amended by—
(a) the substitution in paragraph (b) of “one thousand two hundred pounds” for “eight hundred pounds”, and
(b) the substitution in paragraph (c) of “sixty pounds” for “fifty pounds”.
(3) The following subsection is hereby substituted for subsection (6) of the section:
“(6) In paragraph (b) and paragraph (c) of subsection (2) of this section, the reference to yearly means includes, in addition to the yearly means of the person in question, the yearly means of the spouse (if any) of such person, where the spouse is resident with such person.”
(4) Subsection (9) of the section is hereby amended by the substitution of “one thousand two hundred pounds” for “eight hundred pounds”.
(5) The reference to the section in other sections of the Health Act, 1953 (including references thereto contained in the amendments of the Mental Treatment Act, 1945, set out in section 71 of the Health Act, 1953) shall be construed as references to the section as amended by any Act passed after the passing of that Act (including this Act).
Amendment of section 279A of Mental Treatment Act, 1945.
2.—Section 279A of the Mental Treatment Act, 1945 (being the section inserted in that Act by subsection (11) of section 71 of the Health Act, 1953) is hereby amended by the substitution of “one thousand two hundred pounds” for “eight hundred pounds”.
Short title, collective citations and commencement.
3.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Health and Mental Treatment (Amendment) Act, 1966.
(2) The Health Acts, 1947 to 1964, and section 1 of this Act may be cited together as the Health Acts, 1947 to 1966.
(3) The Mental Treatment Acts, 1945 to 1961, and section 2 of this Act may be cited together as the Mental Treatment Acts, 1945 to 1966.
(4) This Act shall come into operation on such day as the Minister for Health appoints by order.
