Leasú ar an Acht um Údaráis Áitiúla (Deontais Ardoideachais), 1968.

1.—(1) Leasaítear leis seo an tAcht um Údaráis Áitiúla (Deontais Ardoideachais), 1968, tríd an míniú seo a leanas a chur in ionad an mhínithe ar “foras ceadaithe”:

“ciallaíonn ‘foras ceadaithe’ ollscoil, coláiste ollscoile, nó foras ardoideachais eile a mhéid a sholáthraíonn sé cúrsa nó cúrsaí nach giorra ná dhá bhliain de ré, is cúrsa nó cúrsaí a cheadaíonn an tAire de thuras na huaire chun críocha alt 2 den Acht seo.”

(2) Measfar gur tháinig an t-alt seo i ngníomh an 1ú lá de Lúnasa, 1974.

2.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht um Údaráis Áitiúla (Deontais Ardoideachais), 1978, a ghairm den Acht seo.

(2) Féadfar na hAchtanna um Údaráis Áitiúla (Deontais Ardoideachais), 1968 agus 1978, a ghairm den Acht um Údaráis Áitiúla (Deontais Ardoideachais), 1968, agus den Acht seo le chéile.

LOCAL AUTHORITIES (HIGHER EDUCATION GRANTS) ACT, 1978

Amendment of Local Authorities (Higher Education Grants) Act, 1968.

1.—(1) The Local Authorities (Higher Education Grants) Act, 1968, is hereby amended by the substitution of the following definition for the definition of “approved institution”:

“‘approved institution’ means a university, university college, or other institution of higher education in so far as it provides a course or courses of not less than two years duration, being a course or courses of which the Minister approves for the time being for the purposes of section 2 of this Act.”

(2) This section shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1974.

Short title and collective citation.

2.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Local Authorities (Higher Education Grants) Act, 1978.

(2) The Local Authorities (Higher Education Grants) Act, 1968, and this Act may be cited together as the Local Authorities (Higher Education Grants) Acts, 1968 and 1978.
