An Príomh-Acht.
1.—San Acht seo, ciallaíonn an abairt “an Príomh-Acht” an tAcht um na Connaught Rangers (Pinsin), 1936 (Uimh. 37 de 1936).
Alt 18 (1) den Phríomh-Acht a leasú.
2.—(1) Beidh éifeacht ag fo-alt (1) d'alt 18 den Phríomh-Acht amhail is dá gcuirtí an méid seo a leanas in ionad an Tríú Sceidil a ghabhas leis an Acht sin:—

Rialacha chun an Méid de Phinsin Seirbhíse a Cuirfear ar Fionraí a Ríomh.
1. Faoi réir forál Rialach 2 den Sceideal seo, is mar leanas a bheas an méid ina gcuirfear íoc pinsin seirbhíse ar fionraí faoi alt 18 den Acht seo, i gcás an duine a bheas ag fáil an phinsin sin a bheith ag fáil aon luach saothair, pinsin (seachas pinsean créachta nó pinsean míchumais) nó liúntais is iníoctha as airgead poiblí:—

2. I gcás iomlán an mhéid is iníoctha le duine ar bith as airgead poiblí agus an méid is iníoctha leis an duine sin i leith pinsin seirbhíse laistigh de na teoranta a sonraítear ag B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L nó M de Riail 1 den Sceideal seo a bheith níos lú, faoi théarmaí na Rialach sin, ná an méid a gheobhadh an duine sin i gcás an méid is iníoctha leis as airgead poiblí a bheith comh-mhéid le maximum na teorann díreach roimhe sin, ansin, agus i ngach cás den tsórt sin déanfar an méid a cuirfear ar fionraí dá phinsean seirbhíse a laghdú i dtreo nach mbeidh iomlán an mhéid is iníoctha leis as airgead poiblí agus a phinsin seirbhíse níos lú ná an t-iomlán a gheobhadh sé dá mbeadh an méid is iníoctha as airgead poiblí comhmhéid le maximum na teorann díreach roimhe sin.”
(2) Is tuigthe fo-alt (1) den alt seo a theacht i ngníomh an 1ú lá d'Aibreán, 1945, agus beidh éifeacht aige amhail ar an lá sin agus ón lá sin amach.
Gearrtheideal agus comhlua.
3.—(1) Féadfar an tAcht um na Connaught Rangers (Pinsin), 1948, a ghairm den Acht seo.
(2) Féadfar na hAchta um na Connaught Rangers (Pinsin), 1936 agus 1948, a ghairm den Phríomh-Acht agus den Acht seo le chéile.

CONNAUGHT RANGERS (PENSIONS) ACT, 1948.
Principal Act.
1.—In this Act, the expression “the Principal Act” means the Connaught Rangers (Pensions) Act, 1936 (No. 37 of 1936).
Amendment of section 18 (1) of Principal Act.
2.—(1) Subsection (1) of section 18 of the Principal Act shall have effect as if, for the Third Schedule to that Act, there were substituted the following:—
“THIRD SCHEDULE.
Rules for Calculation of Suspension of Service Pensions.
1. Subject to the provisions of Rule 2 of this Schedule, the extent to which the payment of a service pension shall be suspended under section 18 of this Act, where the person in receipt of such pension is in receipt of any remuneration, pension (other than a wound pension or disability pension) or allowance payable out of public moneys, shall be as follows:—
Where the annual amount of the remuneration, pension or allowance payable out of public moneys—

2.Where the total of the amount payable to any person out of public moneys and the amount payable to such person in respect of a service pension within the limits specified at B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L or M of Rule 1 of this Schedule would under the terms of the said Rule be less than the amount which such person would receive if the amount payable to him out of public moneys were at the maximum of the limit immediately preceding, then and in every such case the extent of the suspension of his service pension shall be reduced so that the total of the amount payable to him out of public moneys and of his service pension shall not be less than that which he would receive if the amount payable out of public moneys were at the maximum of the limit immediately preceding.”
(2) Subsection (1) of this section shall be deemed to have come into operation on, and shall have effect as on and from, the 1st day of April, 1945.
Short title and collective citation.
3.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Connaught Rangers (Pensions) Act, 1948.
(2) The Principal Act and this Act may be cited together as the Connaught Rangers (Pensions) Acts, 1936 and 1948.
