AGUS DE BHRÍ gur dineadh le hAcht na gCuan, na nDug agus na bPiaranna (Méadú Sealadach Muirearacha), 1920, na forálacha reachtúla a rialuíonn na muirearacha a dhéanfadh toisceanna cuain, duig agus piara d'atharú ar an gcuma gcéanna chun údaruithe méadú den tsórt céanna ar na muirearacha san:
AGUS DE BHRÍ gur dineadh Orduithe ó am go ham fé sna hAchtanna uile sin roimh-ráite á údarú do thoisceanna Reachtúla áirithe i Saorstát Éireann méadú do dhéanamh ar na muirearacha atá ortha fé seach do dhéanamh do réir reachta agus go raghaidh gach Ordú den tsórt san in éag ar an 15adh lá d'Fheabhra, 1923, maille leis an méadú a údaruíonn sé, no go gairid 'na dhiaidh sin, mara mbuanóidh an t-Oireachtas é:
AGUS DE BHRÍ go bhfuil Toisceanna áirithe Canálach i Saorstát Éireann údaruithe ag Aire an Iompair fé Acht Aireacht an Iompair, 1919, chun a muirearacha do mhéadú laistigh de theoranta áirithe agus go raghaidh an t-údarú san in éag ar an 15adh lá d'Fheabhra, 1923, no go gairid 'na dhiaidh sin, mara mbuanóidh an t-Oireachtas é:
AGUS DE BHRÍ go bhfuilid ann fós na cúiseanna ba bhun leis na hOrduithe agus na hUdaruithe uile sin roimh-ráite do bheith riachtanach agus cóir agus ar an abhar san gur riachtanach agus gur cóir go mbuanóch an t-Oireachtas na hOrduithe agus na hUdaruithe uile sin roimh-ráite:
ACHTUIGHEADH OIREACHTAS SHAORSTÁIT ÉIREANN AR AN ÁBHAR SAN MAR LEANAS:—
Buanú Orduithe sa Chéad Sceideal.
1.—Na hOrduithe uile sin atá luaidhte sa Chéad Sceideal a ghabhann leis an Acht so agus a dineadh fén Acht um Thoisceanna Reachtúla (Méadú Sealadach Muirearacha), 1918 (8 & 9 Geo V., ch. 34), fé mar do leasuíodh é le hAcht na mBóithre Tram (Méadú Sealadach Muirearacha), 1920 (10 & 11 Geo. V., ch. 14), leanfaid i bhfeidhm, gan dochar don chomhacht aithfhéachainte atá ann fé sna hAchtanna roimh-ráite, an fhaid a fhanfaidh an t-alt so i bhfeidhm.
Buanú Orduithe sa Dara Sceideal.
2.—Na hOrduithe uile sin atá luaidhte sa Dara Sceideal a ghabhann leis an Acht so agus a dineadh fé Acht na gCuan, na nDug agus na bPiaranna (Méadú Sealadach Muirearacha), 1920 (10 & 11 Geo. V., ch. 21), leanfaid i bhfeidhm, gan dochar don chomhacht aith-fhéachainte atá ann fén Acht roimh-ráite, an fhaid a fhanfaidh an t-alt so i bhfeidhm.
Féadfaidh Toisceanna Canálach sa Treas Sceideal leanúint ar rátaí, cánacha etc. áirithe d'éileamh.
3.—(1) Beidh sé dleathach do gach ceann de sna Toisceanna Canálach uile sin a luaidhtear sa Chéad Cholún den Treas Sceideal a ghabhann leis an Acht so leanúint, an fhaid a fhanfaidh an t-alt so i bhfeidhm, ar éileamh na rátaí, na dtáillí, na gcánach, na ndiúitéthe agus na muirearacha eile go léir sin fé seach gur orduíodh a n-éileamh do sna Toisceanna san fé seach leis na hOrduithe atá luaidhte sa Dara Colún den Treas Sceideal roimh-ráite.
(2) Féadfar gach ceann de sna hOrduithe roimh-ráite atá luaidhte sa Treas Sceideal a ghabhann leis an Acht so d'aithfhéachaint sa tslí chéanna gur féidir Orduithe a déanfaí fé Acht na gCuan, na nDug agus na bPiaranna (Méadú Sealadach Muirearacha), 1920 (10 & 11 Geo. V., ch. 21), d'aith-fhéachaint fén Acht san agus dá réir sin bainfidh fo-alt (5) d'Alt 1 agus Ailt 2, 3 agus 4 den Acht san leis na hOrduithe roimh-ráite atá luaidhte sa Treas Sceideal roimh-ráite sa tslí chéanna go mbainid le hOrduithe a déanfaí fén Acht san.

4.—San Acht so cialluíonn an abairt “An t-Aire” an t-Aire um Thiúscal agus Thráchtáil.

5.—(1) Féadfar an t-Acht um Thoisceanna Reachtúla (Buanú Muirearacha), 1923, do ghairm den Acht so.
(2) Fanfaidh an t-Acht so i bhfeidhm go dtí an 31adh lá de Bhealtaine, 1923, agus raghaidh sé in éag ansan.

STATUTORY UNDERTAKINGS (CONTINUANCE OF CHARGES) ACT, 1923.
AND WHEREAS by the Harbours, Docks and Piers (Temporary Increase of Charges) Act, 1920, the statutory provisions regulating the charges to be made by harbour, dock and pier undertakings were similarly modified so as to authorise a similar increase of those charges:
AND WHEREAS Orders have from time to time been made under the several Acts aforesaid authorising certain Statutory undertakings in Saorstát Eireann to increase the charges which they are by statute respectively authorised to make but all such Orders and the increase thereby authorised will, expire on or shortly after the 15th day of February, 1923, unless continued by the Oireachtas:
AND WHEREAS certain Canal Undertakings in Saorstát Eireann are authorised by the Minister of Transport under the Ministry of Transport Act, 1919, to increase their charges within certain limits but such authorisation will expire on or shortly after the 15th day of February, 1923, unless continued by the Oireachtas:
AND WHEREAS the circumstances which rendered the several Orders and Authorisations aforesaid necessary and proper still continue to exist and it is therefore necessary and proper that the several Orders and Authorisations aforesaid should be continued by the Oireachtas:
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS OF SAORSTAT EIREANN AS FOLLOWS:—
Continuance of Orders in First Schedule.
1.—The several Orders specified in the First Schedule to this Act and made under the Statutory Undertakings (Temporary Increase of Charges) Act, 1918 (8 & 9 Geo. V., ch. 34), as amended by the Tramways (Temporary Increase of Charges) Act, 1920 (10 & 11 Geo. V., ch. 14) shall, subject to the power of revision subsisting under the Acts aforesaid, continue in force so long as this section remains in force.
Continuance of Orders in Second Schedule.
2.—The several Orders specified in the Second Schedule to this Act and made under the Harbours, Docks and Piers (Temporary Increase of Charges) Act, 1920, (10 & 11 Geo. V., ch. 21) shall, subject to the power of revision subsisting under the Act aforesaid, continue in force so long as this section remains in force.
Canal Undertakings in Third Schedule may continue to charge certain rates, tolls, etc.
3.—(1) It shall be lawful for each of the several Canal Undertakings specified in the First Column of the Third Schedule to this Act to continue for so long as this section remains in force to charge the several rates, fares, tolls, dues and other charges which were respectively directed by the Orders specified in the Second Column of the said Third Schedule to be charged by such Undertakings respectively.
(2) Each of the said Orders specified in the said Third Schedule to this Act may be revised in the same manner as Orders made under the Harbours, Docks and Piers (Temporary Increase of Charges) Act, 1920, (10 & 11 Geo. V., ch. 21) may be revised under that Act and accordingly sub-section (5) of Section 1 and Sections 2, 3 and 4 of that Act shall apply to the said Orders specified in the said Third Schedule in like manner as they apply to Orders made under that Act.
Definition of “Minister.”
4.—In this Act the expression “The Minister” means the Minister for Industry and Commerce.
Short Title and Duration.
5.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Statutory Undertakings (Continuance of Charges) Act, 1923.
(2) This Act shall remain in force until the 31st day of May, 1923, and shall then expire.
