Mínithe agus léiriú.

1.—(1) San Acht so cialluíonn an abairt “Acht 1925” Acht Leictreachais na Sionainne, 1925 (Uimh. 26 de 1925), agus cialluíonn an abairt “an Príomh-Acht” an tAcht Leictreachais (Soláthar), 1927 (Uimh. 27 de 1927).

(2) Is mar aon Acht amháin a léighfear agus a léireofar an tAcht so agus an Príomh-Acht, agus dá réir sin focail agus abairtí a húsáidtear san Acht so agus a húsáidtear sa Phríomh-Acht freisin tá na bríonna céanna leo san Acht so atá leo fé seach sa Phríomh-Acht.

2.—Leasuítear leis seo fo-alt (5) d'alt 11 d'Acht 1925 tré sna focail “chúig milleon, ocht gcéad agus cúig mhíle triochad púnt” do chuir fo-alt (2) d'alt 1 den Acht Leictreachais (Airgead), 1929 (Uimh. 26 de 1929) isteach ann do scriosadh amach. agus tré sna focail “shé milleon. céad agus seachtó míle púnt” do chur isteach in ionad na bhfocal a scriostar amach amhlaidh.

4.—Leasuítear leis seo fo-alt (2) d'alt 3 den Acht Leictreachais (Soláthar) (Leasú). 1931 (Uimh. 32 de 1931). tré sna focail “dhá mhilleon púnt” atá anois sa bhfo-alt san do scriosadh amach agus tré sna focail “dhá mhilleon trí chéad agus cúig mhíle seascad púnt” do chur isteach in ionad na bhfocal a scriostar amach amhlaidh.

5.—(1) Beidh ar na comhachta bronntar ar an mBord le fo-alt (3) d'alt 20 den Phríomh-Acht comhacht chun oibreacha na Sionainne do mhéadú no do leathnú tré thirbíní, aibhleacháin agus meaisínteacht agus gléasadh eile chun leictreachais do gheiniúint do chur isteach, le ceadú an Aire, i dteanta no in ionad meaisínteachta bheidh sna hoibreacha san le linn an churtha isteach san, agus fós comhacht chun foirgintí do thógáil agus chun foghléasadh agus fo-fheistisí do chur isteach agus chun pé nithe eile do dhéanamh is gá do réir réasúin chun na meaisínteachta san do chur isteach agus d'oibriú go héifeachtúil.

(2) Chun crícheanna na nAchtanna Leictreachais (Soláthar), 1927 go 1931, agus an Achta so, agus go sonnrách chun crícheanna an Phríomh-Achta, is feidhm de chuid an Bhúird fé sna hAchtanna san an Bord d'fheidhmiú na gcomhacht a bronntar leis an alt so.

Féadfaidh an tAire freagarthachtaí áirithe d'aistriú chun an Bhúird.

6.—I gcás an Aire do bheith freagarthach in aon íocaíochtaí tréimhsiúla (pe'ca suimeanna iad atá socair no suimeanna atharuíonn) d'íoc ar feadh tréimhse is sia ná trí bliana tar éis an Achta so do rith, agus na freagarthachta san do bheith ina freagarthacht maidir le talamh a fuair an tAire fé Acht 1925 no ina freagarthacht fé chonnradh, fé léas no fé chó-aontú do rinne an tAire fén Acht san, féadfaidh an tAire le hordú an fhreagarthacht in íoc na n-íocaíocht san d'aistriú chun an Bhúird ar pé dáta agus o pé dáta luadhfar chuige sin san ordú san, agus féadfa sé fós. leis an ordú céanna, aistriú do dhéanamh, i dteanta na freagarthachta san, ar an dáta san agus ón dáta san agus chun an Bhúird, ar gach freagarthacht no ar aon fhreagarthacht eile de chuid an Aire agus ar gach ceann no ar aon cheann d'oblagáidí, de chirt agus de thairbhí an Aire maidir leis an talamh céanna no fén gconnradh, fén léas no fén gcó-aontú céanna, do réir mar bheidh.

ELECTRICITY (SUPPLY) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1932.

Definitions and construction.

1.—(1) In this Act the expression “the Act of 1925” means the Shannon Electricity Act, 1925 (No. 26 of 1925), and the expression “the Principal Act” means the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927 (No. 27 of 1927).

(2) This Act and the Principal Act shall be read and construed as one Act, and accordingly words and expressions used in this Act which are also used in the Principal Act have the same meanings in this Act as they respectively have in the Principal Act.

Amendment of section 11 of the Act of 1925.

2.—Sub-section (5) of section 11 of the Act of 1925 is hereby amended by the deletion of the words “five millions, eight hundred and thirty-five thousand pounds” inserted therein by sub-section (2) of section 1 of the Electricity (Finance) Act, 1929 (No. 26 of 1929), and the insertion in lieu of the words so deleted of the words “six million, one hundred and seventy thousand pounds”.

Amendment of section 15 of the Principal Act.

3.—So much of sub-section (10) of section 15 of the Principal Act as amended by section 7 of the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Act, 1930 (No. 19 of 1930), as limits the time within which variations may be made under that sub-section of the sums therein mentioned shall cease to have effect.

Amendment of section 3 of the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Act, 1931.

4.—Sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Act, 1931 (No. 32 of 1931), is hereby amended by the deletion of the words “two million pounds” now contained therein and the insertion in lieu of the words so deleted of the words “two million, three hundred and sixty-five thousand pounds”.

Additional functions of the Board.

5.—(1) The powers conferred on the Board by sub-section (3) of section 20 of the Principal Act shall include the enlargement or extension of the Shannon works by the installation, with the sanction of the Minister, of turbines, dynamos, and other machinery and equipment for generating electricity, either in addition to or in substitution for machinery in the said works at the time of such installation, and to erect buildings and install incidental equipment and fittings and do such other things as may be reasonably necessary for the efficient installation and operation of such machinery.

(2) The exercise by the Board of the powers conferred by this section shall, for the purposes of the Electricity (Supply) Acts, 1927 to 1931, and this Act and in particular for the purposes of the Principal Act, be a function of the Board under those Acts.

Power to the Minister to transfer certain liabilities to the Board.

6.—Where the Minister is liable to make any periodical payments (whether of fixed or varying amounts) extending over a period continuing for more than three years after the passing of this Act and such liability either is a liability in respect of land acquired by the Minister under the Act of 1925 or is a liability under a contract, lease, or agreement entered into by the Minister under that Act, the Minister may by order transfer to the Board the liability to make such payments as on and from such date as shall be specified in that behalf in such order, and may also by the same order transfer as on and from the said date to the Board, together with such liability, all or any other liabilities and all or any obligations, rights, and benefits of the Minister in respect of the same land or under the same contract, lease or agreement, as the case may be.

Short title and citation.

7.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Electricity (Supply) (Amendment) Act, 1932.

(2) The Electricity (Supply) Acts, 1927 to 1931, and this Act may be cited together as the Electricity (Supply) Acts, 1927 to 1932.
